Still affordably located in the center of Denver, Capitol Hill is a favorite destination for young, single Denver residents.
Capitol Hill is an eclectic mix of real estate, including densely populated high rise condominiums, smaller condo conversions, stately historic mansions, and affordable single-family homes and duplexes. There is something here for everyone.
Many fine, classy restaurants and neighborhood bars are sprinkled throughout this charming, historic neighborhood. The upbeat Denver Capitol Hill crowd - many of them young, urban, creative, and artistic - congregates in the bars, taverns, restaurants and cafes nestled throughout the area. And it's a delight to run into a local Denver city councilman or woman, or even a state senator or representative, chowing down on a burger in any one of Capitol Hill's superb restaurants.
The capitol is obviously close, with easy access to downtown Denver and I-25 as well. When you are tired of the hustle and bustle, you can head south to Washington Park, or east to Cheesman Park, two of Denver's favorite spots to relax. Or stay right at home, and enjoy Governor's Park, located between 7th and 8th on Logan, just south of the current Governor's mansion (bring your snowboard for the occasional inner-city air after a heavy snow).
To get a true feel for this great neighborhood, take a meandering walk from the shops and restaurants at 7th and Logan north to the State Capitol, located at East Colfax and Grant Streets.
