Within the Cole neighborhood you will find the proud history of the original pioneers of Denver.  Generations of families have called this neighborhood home, and it is a special honor to see this neighborhood get the recognition it deserves.

Running from Downing St. east to York St. and north to south from E. 40th Ave to Martin Luther King Boulevard (32nd Ave), the Cole neighborhood is the last residential neighborhood in the city before I-70 makes its way across the top of the city.  This location gives the neighborhood easy access to downtown, with Coors Field just one mile southwest and City Park less than a mile down York St.  Easy access to I-70 and from there to I-25 provides a quick and easy route to the mountains or other areas beyond Denver.

Cole is an urban neighborhood, and though not Denver's oldest, it is filled with homes and buildings from before the turn of the century including the historic Wyatt School building which is now home to the acclaimed Wyatt-Edison Charter School.  Around half the homes in the Cole Neighborhood were constructed before 1900 giving the neighborhood its historic characteristic.  Remodeling and renovation are commonplace, but pop-tops and rebuilds are relatively unusual.

On the northern end of the Cole Neighborhood warehouses and other commercial properties become increasingly prevalent with proximity to E. 40th Avenue.  Although trucking traffic does service these facilities, the interstate is back toward the north so virtually none of that traffic goes through the surrounding residential areas.

The neighborhood is home to the city run St. Charles Recreation Center which has a full gym with weight and cardio equipment as well as arts and crafts areas and meeting rooms.  Although there are many programs available at the recreation center, special attention should be paid to the pottery programs because the facility has its own kiln for firing pottery.  The accompanying St. Charles Park provides large grassy open space and a softball field.  Russell Square Park on the eastern side of the neighborhood provides a playground and horseshoe pits.

The sun seems to shine brightly on the neighborhood of Cole.  And that is exactly how it should be.  If you are interested in buying or selling a home in the Cole neighborhood, please contact us.
It is a pleasure to see people appreciate one of Denver's great neighborhoods.
