Denver's newest neighborhood known as either Riverfront (the name the developers gave the area) or Commons Park (named for the park) was a swath of dirt with a couple of forgotten streets just a decade ago.  Now, the area is home to several high-rise and multi-story buildings containing everything from uber-modern condominiums to traditional style lofts and apartments.  Perhaps the only neighborhood in Denver to use natural landmarks instead of streets for its borders, the neighborhood runs from Cherry Creek to the Platte River, to Commons Park to 20th Street.

Built with exquisite timing during Colorado's real estate boom and concurrent loft boom, the Riverfront development produced several buildings ranging from the original Towers to the contemporary Glass House.  Newcomers to the neighborhood will have their choice between apartments, lofts, and condominiums ranging in price from the $300,000s all the way up to multi-million dollar penthouses.

Residents of Riverfront benefit from surroundings that seem like they were hand drawn as the perfect combination of views and attractions.  Cherry Creek flows into the Platte River on the southern end of the neighborhood making a great kayaking spot.  Add in the Cherry Creek trails which connect to the Riverfront trails, and residents have numerous routes to choose from as they run, walk, bike, or paddle just by walking out their front door.  When they want a change from the river and parks, residents just turn east for magnificent views of downtown.  Short drives or brisk walks put residents in Lodo with its wide array of attractions.

Despite the tiny size of the neighborhood, it is packed with dining gems of all kinds.  The ultra-hip Zengo has been drawing people to Little Raven since the beginning, and Sushi Sasa is a premier sushi destination in Denver.  Casual choices abound as well including neighborhood favorite Proto's Pizza with its unique creations and fun atmosphere.  Neighborhood residents will find no shortage of coffee choices either with several fine shops and longtime favorite Paris on the Platte now boasting a roasting facility in the neighborhood.

Common's Park is an enormous swath of green grass with something for everyone.  Large lawn-like areas are perfect for Frisbee, football, picnicking, dog walking, and just plain enjoying the famous Colorado sunshine.  With the park literally out the front door of several buildings and tantalizingly close to others, neighbors constantly run across familiar faces.  A web of paths wanders through the park allowing for comfortable strolls through areas carefully grown with native plants and along the river.

Other area attractions include the giant REI store and the Museum of Contemporary Art.  Just a hop away are Coors Field, the Pepsi Center, Elitch Gardens, the Aquarium, and the Children's Museum.

Perhaps the only drawback to Riverfront is the lack of a nearby school which means that this isn't your typical family neighborhood.  However, if you are a looking for a lifestyle that includes everything urban living has to offer, without the drawbacks of living in concrete canyons, this is the place for you.

If you are interested in buying or selling a home in Commons Park, please give us a call.  We love working in one of Denver's most exciting new areas.
