The Congress Park neighborhood is one of Denver's most popular areas, and it isn't difficult to see why.  Congress Park boasts a central location just north of the upscale Cherry Creek Shopping district and all the great shops and restaurants located there.  Only slightly further away are Downtown Denver, City Park, the Denver Zoo, and the Museum of Nature and Science.  Easy access to the area's major arterials including I-70 and I-25 makes the neighborhood accessible to those who commute or for those visiting from the suburbs.

Congress Park has a wide variety of homes ranging from multi-million dollar mansions to smaller graceful bungalows and multi-story apartment buildings.  Most of the area's original homes were built near the turn of the century, but rebuilds, pop-tops, and complete renovations are plentiful.

On the northern side, located along Colfax Avenue, you'll find the beloved Tattered Cover which recently moved from its old home in Cherry Creek North.  The Tattered Cover is the central tenant in the renovated Lowenstein Theatre complex which includes a theatre, the Twist and Shout music store, and the new Encore Restaurant.

Along the southern side of the Congress Park neighborhood lies the 7th Avenue Parkway.  Shown on city maps as nothing more than a divided road, it is actually a lively stretch of grassy tree lined median bracketed by wide but quiet roadways.   While officially bike lanes, the asphalt strips are cruised frequently by joggers, dog walkers, and parents pushing strollers.  In summer, the trees form a green canopy over the top of the roadway, and volunteers working with city crews descend on the area to plant the large flower beds.  Come fall, the trees explode in reds and yellows providing a picturesque walk for area residents.  Even in winter residents enjoy outdoor activity along the city plowed roadway.  The neighborhood's namesake park is smaller than many of the city's other parks, but boasts of an outdoor swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, soccer fields, a baseball diamond, a playground, and picnic area.

Along the western border sits another gem of the Congress Park neighborhood.  The Denver Botanic Gardens, though technically across the street from the official boundaries of Congress Park are well known by residents.  Open year round, the gardens provide not only an opportunity to see a variety of plants and trees, but also, a multitude of shaded gardens and sunny lawn areas.  A summer concert series plays within the grounds each year.  At Christmas time, the Botanic Gardens shine as colorful lights are hung from every tree.  People come from all over to see the spectacle, but residents take in the free tree-top only show every time they drive up or down Josephine and glance over at the trees visible above the walls.

With all this variety, it is no wonder that Congress Park is one of Denver's most popular neighborhoods.

If you are interested in buying or selling a home in Congress Park, please give us a call.  We always look forward to working in one of Denver's great neighborhoods.
