Though officially considered a part of the Hilltop Neighborhood by the City of Denver, Denver's Crestmoor neighborhood is located between E. Alameda Avenue and 6th Avenue between Holly Street, and Monaco Parkway.

Crestmoor Park is the heart and soul of this small neighborhood.  Easy access means that neighbors frequently see each other while using the park either while jogging, walking, picnicking, playing with their dogs, or just lounging in Colorado's legendary sunshine.  Highlights of the area include tennis courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, picnic tables, and wide-open grassy spaces.  The park has a designated lot for cars on its southeast end, though some visitors park on the surrounding streets which provides one frustration and common bond for area residents.

Another common issue for Crestmoor residents is the redevelopment of the Lowry area and the encroaching commercial development from Alameda.  As a long-time quiet residential area comprised almost exclusively of single-family homes, residents are very cautious regarding development that might change the character of their beloved neighborhood and its quiet park.  Of particular concern is the area known as Lowry Field.  As it stands, the only access to the Lowry Field area is from Quebec Street on the eastern end of Lowry Field.  However, Lowry Field runs up to Monaco Parkway.  Residents are concerned that if the development at Lowry Field creates access from the Monaco Parkway side that traffic will increase not only along Monaco Parkway, but also into and around the park from the Lowry area that is now cut off from such access.  So far, all attempts at including access from Monaco have been rebuffed.

As a small quiet neighborhood, Crestmoor doesn't have its own restaurants and shopping, but is very close to a wealth of both.  Downtown Denver is less than twenty minutes away.  The Cherry Creek Mall and associated shopping district are just two miles away.  The new Lowry Town Center is also easily accessible from the area.  Monaco Parkway and Alameda Avenue allow for quick access into and out of the area.

Crestmoor homes tend to be single-family homes and come in basically two varieties.  The first are old-style mansions mostly along the 6th Avenue area particularly in the areas with access via the semi-circle streets off of 6th.  The others are mostly 1970s style ranch houses.  This style of home tends to include the same square footage as today's commonly multi-story houses meaning the lots in the Crestmoor area tend to be much larger than normal especially for an area so close to downtown.  Because of the large lots, its great location, and quiet feel, homes in Crestmoor tend to more expensive than those in nearby neighborhoods.

If you are considering buying or selling a home in Crestmoor, give us a call.  It is always an honor to work in one of Denver's favorite neighborhoods.
