MLS Search - Denver Real Estate
LoDo, the name tagged on Lower Downtown Denver in the late 1980s, may be the hottest nightlife spot in the Denver metro area because of its numerous bars, taverns, restaurants, galleries, brewpubs, wine bars, jazz clubs, night clubs and the relatively short jaunt by foot or car to Coors Field, the Pepsi Center and Elitch Gardens.

This 25-block mixed-use, urban neighborhood - the original seeds of Denver when in 1858 General William Larimer erected his cabin and called his small settlement Denver City - is just as exciting and trendy during the day, featuring such gems as Denver Union Station, Tattered Cover Bookstore, and the Wynkoop Brewing Company, all within a stone's throw of Wynkoop and 18th Street.

Wynkoop is considered the northern boundary of the LoDo neighborhood - bustling with specialty retail stores on the lower floors of historic buildings, plus stunning lofts, handsome condos and apartments and stylish offices - while Speer Boulevard, 20th Street and Larimer Street form the western, eastern and southern boundaries, respectively. Because of a building-height limit plenty of Colorado sunshine and breath-taking blue sky soak the roofs and balconies of this historic neighborhood, which was designated The Lower Downtown Historic District by the Denver City Council in 1988. The designation preserves LoDo's architectural, historical and economic value and ensures its vitality.

The renowned Morton's, The Steakhouse can be found at 1710 Wynkoop, close to Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar and Trios Enoteca, an independent wine bar boasting 40-plus wines by the glass and live music, both inhabiting classic red-brick buildings.

Sullivan's, at Wazee Street and 18th Avenue, offers an outdoor patio and the well-known, historic Oxford Hotel occupies the corner of Wazee and 17th Street. Further down Wazee toward 16th Street you'll find Mongolian Barbeque and William Matthews Gallery while Dixon's on the Mall sits at 16th Street and Wazee, near Gumbo's Louisiana Style Café and After Hours Urgent Care, between 15th and 16th streets. Also on Wazee are The Lofts at Wazee Wire Works, West End Lofts, LoDo Dental and offices in the elegant The Elephant Coral, constructed in red-brick, glass and wrought iron.

Fresh flowers can be had at the Fresh Flower Market at Wazee and 15th Street. Two blocks away on 17th Street there's the Sugar Beet Café and Jax Bar, featuring oysters for 75 cents, while The Cheesecake Factory sits at Larimer and 16th streets.

LoDo residents can hop on the Cherry Creek bike path, just a few blocks from the neighborhood, tour the nearby, recently-finished 30-acre Commons Park in the Central Platte Valley and catch the light rail at RTD's Market Street Station.

Whatever your real estate needs - whether you are considering buying or selling a loft, condo or apartment in historic LoDo - please give us a call. We look forward to serving you in one of our favorite Denver neighborhoods.
