The Lower Highlands (LoHi) neighborhood is one of the more exciting neighborhoods in the Downtown Denver area.
LoHi is adjacent to Riverfront Park, perched on a hill to the west of I-25. A pedestrian bridge connects the neighborhood to the 16th Street Mall and Commons Park.
Five years ago, the term "LoHi" would have gotten you only a quizzical expression from even the the proudest Denver native. That all changed when the dramatically arched Highland Pedestrian Bridge, which was completed in late 2006, opened the door for this trendy neighborhood to take off.
The neighborhood is definitely on the rise, thanks to it's convenient proximity to Downtown Denver, and it's postition as the transition area from downtown to the popular Highlands neighborhoods.
Residents enjoy the easy walkability of this urban neighborhood. There is something great about feeling the cars whiz by underneath you on I-25 as you stroll across the pedestrian bridge to downtown, where parking and valet are not your concern.
There is plenty to do in the LoHi neighborhood - restaurants, coffee shops, and night spots are plentiful.
There are many modern lofts being built, taking advantage of the incredible Denver skyline views and convenient downtown access. Prices are still affordable compared with property that is immediately downtown.
