Some of the finest, most elegant homes in Denver - from large three-story, red-brick, red-tiled roofed Tudors to lovely single-story, red-and-brown brick homes - grace the immense, refined Park Hill neighborhood, which is commonly divided into South and North Park Hill.

Neatly tucked away in South Park Hill, which is bounded by Colfax Avenue to the south, Colorado Boulevard on the west, Quebec Street on the East and 23rd Street on the north, is the nationally-famous Johnson and Wales University. The 25-acre campus, home to several schools including the College of Culinary Arts and College of Business that are housed in traditional gothic-styled brown-stone buildings, stretches along several blocks of tree-lined 17th Avenue and Montview Boulevard. About 1,500 students attend the university. The Denver School of the Arts sits right across the street.

Philips Elementary School is at 6550 East 21st Avenue and the Oneida Park Center, a cluster of stores, restaurants and services, stretches along both sides of the block from Oneida Street to 23rd Avenue, featuring South Philly Cheese Steaks, Spicy Thai sushi, BJ's Hair Sensations, Kwik Tax Services, and L & R Auto Repair.

Handsome one-story, brown-brick homes surround the Center and the large Fred N. Thomas Memorial Park, which sports several soccer fields, is close by at 23rdAvenue and Quebec Street. The three-story Park Hill United Methodist Church, topped with an Arabic-styled dome and a red-tiled roof, commands the corner of Montview and Grape streets. Close at hand you'll find Park Hill Masonic Lodge #48 in a two-story, brown-brick building and across the street housed in a magnificent castle-like structure is Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church. The Montview Community Preschool and Kindergarten sits next door adjacent to Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church: an elegant two-story, light-tan brick building nestled amongst tall cedar and Ponderosa pine trees.

Perched on the corner of Elm Street and 19th Avenue is the peach-colored Park Hill Elementary School with its arched windows and the Denver International School hovers close by.

An elegant neighborhood needs a refined library and South Park Hill has just that in the Park Hill Branch Library at 4025 Montview Boulevard occupying a three-level, white-façade structure sporting a red-tiled roof and reportedly offering an excellent collection of music and DVDs. A little farther north is the Spanish-styled Saint Thomas Episcopal Church.

At the boundary of North Park Hill along 23rd Avenue and Dexter Street a small group of shops, eateries and businesses enhance this charming neighborhood, including the coffee shop, Adagio Baking Company, The Dancer's Advantage, The Cherry Tomato restaurant, Spinelli's Market, Park Hill Bookstore, Park Hill Dental Arts, Moss Park - Flora and Botanicals, and Coma's Dog Grooming & Spa.
